| 2009/10: |
For any of us who is not to proud to denie it, 2009 was a year where decisions had to be taken. Also for us, that year was different.
Our major stock laid a pressure on our financial capacities, today we are proud to say that this problem is over .
within the period of crisis, we sold quit a lot of brandnew resaws made by FULLPOWER model FTF - 900 and today there is in every Flemish provincy at least 1 machine operating with wood - retail shops.
Our participation to the PROWOOD-show in Gent was a gigantic succes . We have sold a lot of small model choppers (CE 300) from SWEED and the list of references became longer .
Departement sawmill machines shipped out an important order machines and parts for PRIMULTINI towards KINSHASA and a couple of smaller orders were shipped to other African countries.
South America received a bunch of used machines but also a brand new horizontal logmill made by WRAVOR.
Our departement SWEED - choppers saw that early 2010 those long promised orders from the bigger steel companies were consolidated.
All this comforts us for the future and we have regained our confidence.

| 2008: |
Year 2008 is great year. We nearly doubled out turnover. We have found new supplier of great machines to complete the offer to European wood - shops and industrial planer mills. These machines have moderate prices for a great quality level. They will meet the needs of small & medium sized companies
We deliver a sawmill to TANZANIA & to another customer in Gabon.
The last months of 2008 have brought the financial crisis over the world and also with SEYNA. The multiplcation of our last years turnover was not achieved but we did not stop buying good quality machines. We have bought the full inventory of sawmills COLLARD in French speaking part of Belgium + the total of machines in KERKHOF sawmill in Holland.
We feel confident that with few overhead costs + flemisch courage we will come by through this difficult times and we wish everybody best of courage to come by through these uncertain times.

| 2007: |
This year our department of recycling plants from SWEED will be our proud. A worldwide hunger for all kinds of raw materials convinces our customers more and more of the fact that waste shouldn't just be thrown away and therefore they invest in equipment to shorten long scrap bandings . With shortened metal & plastic bandings, this packaging waste can be reintroduced into the chain of recycling. Healthy for environment and at the same time financially healthy for our customers. We have received orders from ARCELOR MITTAL STEEL – LAURAMETAAL – CORUS STAALGROEP. SWEED manufactured the small Bandit model CE300 for recycling smaller waste streams.
In the department sawmill plants we obtained an order for a saw doctoring room in KISANGANI for customer SODEFOR and a heavy board edger in NIOKI for customer SODEFOR. For SAFIR in ABIDJAN we will ship a levelling and tensioning bank – stellite tipper and flank grinder. Several other plants will be delivered in different countries. However, it does seem to become harder and harder to obtain an order for a completely new sawmill.
OPTIMATIC – equipment will leave for RD CONGO and the Netherlands. (HUPKES HOUTHANDEL) .

| 2006: |
In the deepest parts of Belgium (municipality ETALLE) we set up a fully new sawmill – equipment for customer LIMHOUT – mr. Johan DANIELS.http://www.limhout.be We deliver a PRIBO mechanisation (http://www.pribo.it) together with a PRIMULTINI headrig and carriage http://www.pribo.it. The whole mill is set up onto a steal frame made by SEYNA, firstly we will dismantle the old plant that will be transported to France (scierie DUFFARD à BRIENAN /ARMANCHON). The new plant will be installed at +/- the same place as the previous plant and we estimate that the whole job will be finished in about 3 weeks.
|
| 2005: |
We obtained the order of a new sawmill on the left bank of the Congo river at KISANGANI . This mill will be installed at the heart of AFRORMOSIA – region and is for the account of a Portuguese customer NORSUDTIMBER . Once again it is a complete project and this time in a region that was & still is civil war-stricken.
For SEYNA this new mill has a special emotional meaning, since it will be set up at only a few kilometres away from the place where SEYNA exported and set up its very first equipement. KONGO will always have a special place in the heart of SEYNA .
Unfortunately, this is also the first year that SEYNA becomes aware of the crises within the sawmill sector. We notice that our customers start having doubts and investments are being put off. This down period forces us to limit our stock of second hand equipment.
|
| 2004: |
Similar to the WIJMA order, we obtain the project of the customer HOLLAND WOODWORKS from SURINAM . This sawmill almost has the same impressive size and will change the image of Surinam as exporter of logs and poles. We have also supplied the new sawmill for Mr. MULENGA at Kinshasa + a saw doctoring room for the customer CONGOFUTUR in the same town.
A very special order is the one containing the saw doctoring room for the customer COMPAGNIE DES BOIS du GABBON at the port city of PORT GENTIL. In the whole African continent, it is the very first saw doctoring room that is state of the art and fully automatic. It is set up in an air-conditioned room. This saw mill doubled output in using an OPTIMATIC type RSMO 980 for levelling and improved the quality of sawn wood by factor 4.
Our recycling department confirms some smaller orders. One special project concerns delivery of several machines to a Belgian producer of steel tubes.

| 2003: |
We have been selected as the supplier for the new mill project in the north of CAMEROUN (village NGUTI) that will be installed by the Dutch wood tycoon WIJMA. This order has kept us busy for 6 months and the largeness of this order confirms that SEYNA is capable of handling the export of a fully equipped saw mill.
Our recycling equipment department succeeds in winning the UMICORE COPPER order to deliver equipment for conditioning 25,000 tons of red copper a year. Meanwhile, OPTIMATIC built a new model (type RSMO 980), which is capable of tensioning, levelling and stretching. Though this equipment is rather expensive, we have received many orders and only within the BENELUX countries several tens of these machines have been installed. Amongst our customers, we may count following sawmills:
- THYS HOUT (Kapellen)
- VAN MAELE (Nieuwpoort)
- HOFFMANN TRADE (Atzerath)
- PAULS TIMBER (St. Vith)
- DUSAUSSOIT (Etalle)
- DEMONTY (Sourbrodt)
|
| 2001: |
As of 01.01.2001 SEYNA's department of band saws will be left to the sole care of our former foreman. BSS will start following its own course. SEYNA is now ready to concentrate FULL TIME on its 3 key activities :
- Export of turnkey projects to sawmills using second hand equipment.
- Import form Switzerland and after sales service of OPTIMATIC equipment for BENELUX countries + sale to all French speaking customers all over the world.
- Import from the United States and after sale service of SWEED equipment for linear scrap recycling.

| 2000: |
Plans are made for a further separation of the activities of our company. A new 1,600 m² hall is built in view of housing our department for export of machines. Moving our stock in machinery will eventually last 3 months.
|
| 1999: |
Our Jubilee is celebrated: our company exists for 10 years now. This jubilee confirms that despite all the setbacks due to the may legal proceedings during our start-up period, this young company managed to survive. The jubilee was accompanied by an open house day, exhibiting operating machines, which was very much appreciated by our customers. Scoop in Belgium: the range of choppers for linear scrap from the company SWEED is introduced in Belgium. (www.sweed.com)
|
| 1998: |
Activities are split up and a new 800 m² hall is used for storing and reconditioning equipment and products for export. This new hall is situated at 3 km from the original plant.
|
| 1997: |
We accept brand representation of OPTIMATIC machines, a company that has just developed a machine type SMO for automatic tensioning and straightening band saws. A revolutionary machine in the world of saw mills, which resulted into many a sale to saw mills that had a lot of problems in this field with their band saws. (www.optimatic.ch)
|
| 1991: |
A first OPTIMATIC automatic leveller for levelling band saws is bought. Unique in Belgium. Huge investments were made for enlarging our work place and purchasing an automatic stellite tipper and a full flood side dresser with borazon,...

| 1989: |
Foundation of SEYNAEVE BANDSAWS nv after a difficult period, during which Krist's father lost complete interest in and abandoned the company, not showing up for months on end. Krist SEYNAEVE becomes the managing director. Only 2 activities will remain:
- Manufacturing and repairing band saws
- Export to Africa and further of machines for sawmills.
This year is also characterized by the legal problems with the former exploiter and by our search for a proper place on the market for our new company. We are encouraged to go on with our young company thanks to the confirmation of our customers.
|
| 1988: |
Spurred on by Krist SEYNAEVE, a first second-hand machine is exported to Africa, to the former ZAIRE, namely in KISANGANI. Krist SEYNAEVE travels for the first time to ZAIRE and his interest for export is growing. Soon, CAMEROON will follow.
|
| 1987: |
First investments in the field of stellite tipping of band saws. More people, who will only work on band saws, are engaged. Our first van is bought for regular visits to sawmills. Brand representation for PRIMULTINI from Italy is accepted, especially for the sale of their machines destined for grinding rooms.
|
| 1986: |
A first investment in machines designed for working with band saws. A machine for joining of wide saw blades (width of up to 310 mm) is built and investment in a levelling-tensioning bench is made. We buy a press for punching out teeth in band saws and we start to build up a stock of band saw steel. Our company moves to Astenstraat at Heestert.
|
| 1985: |
The first band saws wider than 80 mm were being repaired at our company. Development of interest in this market segment, which was being abandoned by the people who used to supply saw blades for sawmills back then.

At Izegem, a village in West-Vlaanderen (Belgium), a company active in the business of manufacturing special tools (drills, moulders, spindles) for secondary woodworking, is for sale. This company is named PORTEMAN and initially activities are started under the name of NIEUW HUIS PORTEMAN (new house PORTEMAN) but later on it gradually changed into SEYNAEVE & SON and finally we are doing business under the name of SEYNA
